"If you're out on the road

Feeling lonely

And so cold

All you have to is

CALL MY NAME

And I'll be there on the next train..."

If you didn't sing that in your head you're probably lying.

Hey booknerds!

So I'm kind of a massive Gilmore Girls fan. I have been since birth (no, literally). I was a baby when the show first was released and my mom used to watch it with me. I grew admiring the witty Lorelai and the intelligent Rory, laughing at the quirky citizens of Stars Hollow, and having crushes on some of the love interests *cough* Jess *cough*.

I always have enjoyed it, even when I was too young to fully understand. However, I have rewatched it MANY times throughout the years and I see new things in it that I missed before. It becomes more relatable as I go through the same stages of life as Rory. Generally, it's just been a great comfort to me. I truly don't think I'll ever not be in love with this show.

Because I'm such a big fan, of course I had to do the Gilmore Girls Book Tag!

Now, I've seen this done several different ways before. So I'm just going to do the version I would have the most fun doing.

Unfortunately I don't know who started this tag to give credit to, so I apologize.

Let's go ahead and jump into this tag! I'm literally so excited guys, I can't even fully express it.

1) Lorelai

ree

A character with a witty or sarcastic sense of humor

Lorelai a.k.a me! I relate to her the most in the series and although I love all the characters, she's definitely my favorite.

Now I just finished The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzie Lee, so I'm going to have to say Monty, the main character, for this one. I feel like him and Lorelai have a very similar sense of humor despite living many centuries apart. He's just as witty and talkative as her. Plus, despite being slightly obnoxious, they're very likable and made me laugh a lot.

2) Rory

ree

Your favorite classic

First of all, can we just appreciate how young Alexis is in this picture?

Well, I would definitely have to say Great Expectations by Charles Dickens for this one. I absolutely adore that book and I talk more about it in another post of my all time favorite books. This has been one of my favorite books for years. I never get tired of it.

However, Lord of the Flies by William Golding is definitely a close second. It's such a unique and interesting books. I have so many theories about it that I may post in another blog post sometime soon ;)

This is definitely hard because I do enjoy a lot of classics, but those would be my top two picks!

3) Luke

ree

A book you love, but are afraid to admit.

His face in this picture is awesome.

Awe, I hope one day I'm lucky enough to get my own Luke.

Anyways, this is hard because I don't usually feel ashamed of the books I like reading. I usually don't care what people think about the books I'm reading.

However, I would probably say the Pretty Little Liars series by Sara Shepard. Those books get so much hate and I will admit they're not the most carefully written books, but they're very entertaining and I love getting swept up in the drama of Rosewood. Despite their flaws and shallowness, I also do find myself relating to some of the problems of the four main characters throughout the series. Not to mention the handsome love interests.

4) Lane

ree

A musical character

Honestly, this was a hard one. It wasn't until now that I realized that most of the characters I read about aren't that musical (or as awesome as Lane.)

So after reaching into the depths of my mind, I'm going to say Edward Cullen from the Twilight series.

What's that? Everyone stopped reading?

Although it is certainly not a key point in his character, you know cause you're mostly focused on him as Bella's vampire boyfriend, it is made clear in the books that Edward is very good at playing the piano.

Guys, this is such a horrible example, but I really can't think of anyone else besides Percy from The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue. I didn't want to reference the same book twice though, so I'm sticking with Edward. Besides, who doesn't like a gorgeous vampire that can play Mozart without even trying?

Wow, I'm comparing Lane playing drums to a sparkly vampire.

(Sorry Lane.)

5) Dean

ree

The character or book you first loved

Dean seems to be the character that everyone loves to hate, however, although Jess is my favorite, I won't be joining that bandwagon. I thought Dean and Rory were cute together in season one.

Anyways, I'm going to be like everyone else who does this version of the tag and say the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling.

I think this one is so common because they are books that are full magic and adventure, so it appeals to younger kids, but as you get older you see the more mature themes and the meaning behind that (although you still love the magic). It's just such an incredible series, so I see why it's reached so many people.

I read tons before I touched the Harry Potter series and I liked all the books. However, when I was seven or eight, I finally picked up these books. I was going through a really rough time and I used to sit in my room, letting myself completely getting lost in these books. I fell in love with the characters and I so badly wanted to be a part of this world. It was the perfect distraction from the bad things that were happening in my life at that time. It was the first book(s) I truly fell in love with. I kept rereading them, hoping that if I did it enough I might just slip into that world.

I will forever be grateful for this series and it will always be my first love.

Wow, okay. I'm getting sappy.

6) Sooki

ree

A book you've devoured

The love and the Dean and the cookies and the Dean and the love machine.

This could apply to a solid 70% of books I've read. I guess I'm going to dig back to a book I've devoured multiple times, especially during the ages of 13-15. That book would be Looking for Alaska by John Green.

I fell in love with this book pretty quickly and finished it in a day. I couldn't put it down and I fell in love with the characters. Although I'm not quite as obsessed with it, I still have very strong feelings for it and think it's an awesome book. Definitely my favorite John Green book. I have written all over those margins, but that's okay because I think Pudge and Alaska would approve.

7) Jess

ree

A book you love that gets the most hate

Ah, my precious, snarky boy.

There would be a lot of books I love that would fall into this category. I'm just sooooo unlike all those other posers. Just kidding guys!

I would probably say The Host by Stephanie Meyer. I have honestly never gotten why this book is so hated. I thinks it's an awesome story. I actually like it better than Twilight. The characters are so unique and interesting. It's a very unique story. I'm not usually into stuff about extraterrestrials if I'm honest, but I really liked this story. But everyone has their own tastes.

I also am a fan of the Divergent series and the Twilight series, which are also pretty hated.

8) Miss Patty

ree

A book that was ruined by all the hype

Patrica, well, well, well ;)

If anyone remembers what episode that is from, I want to be your best friend.

Anyways, I usually don't read hyped or popular books until a couple years lately when they're no longer relevant. It's not on purpose. I just usually am not able to get them from the library until then or I won't want to pay full price for it. I'm really bad at keeping up with trends and such honestly.

However, a couple years ago, there was one book I got to read pretty quickly after it came out because my friend had a copy of it. I was so excited because I could not wait to get my hands on my book. Not to mention, everyone was making the biggest deal over this book. My friend was even gushing about how good this was. Plus, the author is quite popular (understatement). So yes, there was a lot of hype around this book, so I had some high expectations for it.

This book was Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J.K. Rowling.

I don't even know where to begin. I think I might honestly make a separate post about this book because I have so much to say about it.

I understand that this story is different for two major reasons: 1) it's actually a play and 2) it's following the children of all the Harry Potter OG characters.

HOWEVER

I have many issues with this book and I really didn't enjoy it. I get so mad that this is considered the eighth book in the series. I refuse to include it. Overall, I'm was just so let down because everyone made such a big deal about this book. But I do know there are a decent amount of people who share the same opinion of this book, still the majority of people love it.

To each their own, I suppose.

9) Emily Gilmore

ree

An expensive book

Awe, I honestly love Emily and her passive aggressiveness. She's grown so much on me over the years.

Anyways, this is a fairly hard one for me because I don't buy expensive books. I tend to get second hand books or just find cheap places on the internet to get them, so my answer for this probably won't actually be that expensive of a book.

I guess the most expensive book I have is the 10th anniversary edition of The City Of Bones by Cassandra Claire. I didn't even buy this, my mom got it for me for my birthday or Christmas. I think it costed around $20. Yeah, probably not actually that expensive, but unlike Emily Gilmore, I'm not fond of spending a lot of money on things.

10) Paris Geller

ree

An uptight character

It's almost sad to say how much I relate to Paris and her craziness. She's another one of my favorites.

I had a lot of trouble with this one because I can't really think of a lot of uptight characters that I've read about.

However, I decided to use Hermione for this one. Although she's nicer than Paris, they still are both fairly uptight and share some other similar qualities like their intelligence, dedication to school, sarcasm, loyalty, and they have trouble figuring out boys.

Here is also an amusing video on some of Paris's best moments on Gilmore Girls. Enjoy :)

That is all for the Gilmore Girls Book Tag unfortunately. I had a ton of fun doing this though! Perhaps I'll try a different version of this tag another time because I'm just a little too obsessed with this show.

Anyways, thanks for reading. Feel free to check out my other blog posts while your hear and subscribed to be notified when I post and other fun stuff.

Have a good rest of your day and stay reading!
